Seven-seat family cars were once the automotive equivalent of sensible shoes – practical, dependable and rarely anyone’s first choice. When my kids started school, I lost count of how many parents begged me to suggest an alternative to their dull MPVs.
But times change. Manufacturers are now bringing design flair, advanced safety tech and increasingly imaginative interiors into vehicles built for school runs and summer holidays.
