Perrie Edwards was part of the girl band Little Mix who rose to prominence after they were discovered on The X Factor back in 2011. Since then they have toured worldwide and sold millions of albums, becoming one of the most successful girl bands ever.
Little Mix found themselves down to three members after Jesy Nelson left the group in 2020, but they continued to perform as a trio until 2022, when they took a step back from performing together to persue solo projects.
Perrie Edwards has since recorded solo material and released her debut album in 2025.

The news of the birth of her baby girl comes just a short time after her former bandmate Jesy Nelson released the news that her twin baby girls had been diagnosed with a rare genetic condition, which means it is unlikely they will ever be able to walk.
The twin girls were recently diagnosed with SMA1, which is the most severe and common form of a disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 1, which causes muscle weakness, progressive loss of movement and paralysis.

The baby girls, named Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, were born two months ahead of their due date and have only recently been diagnosed with the disorder.
Brave new mum Jesy took time out to congratulate her former bandmate Perrie on the birth of her baby girl, Alanis Valentine.

Speaking about her beloved baby girls on social media recently, 34 year old Jesy said ‘We were told that they’re probably never going to be able to walk; they probably will never regain their neck strength, so they will be disabled, and so the best thing we can do right now is to get them treatment, and then just hope for the best.’
Jesy Nelson has vowed to work to raise awareness of the condition and has listed the signs to look out for in new babies in her post on X.
