They weren’t at their most polished, but that will matter little to Ballygunner as they joined the upper echelon of club hurling with a second All-Ireland crown at Croke Park.
Many of their biggest hitters never caught fire as they normally would – star man Dessie Hutchinson being a prime example with just 0-1 from play – but they were ruthlessly efficient when the finish line was in sight.
