Coronation Street spoilers follow from Tuesday’s episode (20 January), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.
Coronation Street will reveal Jodie Ramsey‘s nasty side tonight as she sets her sights on an unexpected target. The newcomer grabs an opportunity to cause tension between Lily and Shona Platt, but what is her ultimate endgame?
Jodie has been displaying some concerning behaviour since moving into the Platt house. With her initial appearance in Corriedale still shrouded in mystery, it’s clear that the character is harbouring some big secrets.
Viewers know that Jodie is running away from something – or someone – as she has been bombarded with calls and texts from an unknown figure. However, in recent episodes Jodie has seemed more interested in stirring up trouble for her half-sister Shona.
Last night, the estranged siblings had a tense heart-to-heart, with Jodie accusing Shona of abandoning her and leaving her to deal with their controlling father. After hearing about Jodie’s difficult upbringing, Shona confessed her guilty feelings to David – as a visibly pleased Jodie eavesdropped nearby.

In tonight’s episode, Shona gets ready to visit baby Harper in the hospital, but is reminded of a prior commitment she made to Lily. Seeing Shona struggle to balance her newborn and step-daughter, Jodie offers to help Lily with her homework instead.
While working on the art project, unimpressed Lily admits that she feels neglected by both of her parents, claiming Shona “never does stuff with [her] anymore”.
“My dad doesn’t either. It’s just all about Harper,” she shares. “I don’t mean to sound selfish.”

Jodie notices an opportunity to cause friction in the family and tells Lily that she knows how it feels “when someone abandons you”. She cuts herself off, but the teenager begs her to explain further.
“Shona’s your step-mum and I’m sure she loves you very much but, well, she’s always gonna have a stronger bond with the baby. And, well, it’s not really her fault, it’s just biology,” Jodie tells a crestfallen Lily.
Their conversation is interrupted by the return of David and Shona who gleefully share that Harper will be coming home soon. Shona pulls Jodie aside and thanks her for her help, adding that she’s going to make things up to her after leaving her as a child.
Jodie tells her sister that it’s “all forgotten”, but her earlier actions suggest that this is just the beginning of her manipulation. What does she have planned for Shona?
