Colleen Hoover is not too fond of Justin Baldoni, according to Blake Lively.
On Tuesday, December 20, text messages between Lively, 38, and her superstar friend Taylor Swift about the It Ends With Us drama were unsealed. In one text, sent on May 19, 2024 — about three months before the film was officially released — Lively insisted Hoover, 46, was not Baldoni’s ally.
“Btw I have SO much to tell you,” Lively wrote in a message to an undisclosed person, per court documents obtained by the National Enquirer. “The author Colleen reached out to me because Justin is on an internal smear campaign trying to get his edit through. She was horrified. And reached out on her own to talk to me.”
“Turns out he f**king lied, she’s not Bahai,” Lively continued in her message, referring to Baldoni’s faith. “Never has been. She’s not friends with him at all. She actually hates him. She was his safety net all along.”

“Meanwhile he shut her out and wouldn’t include her in anything and told her she had no voice or value yet paraded her around in front of cameras for goodwill and told us all that all his decision [sic] he got pushback on were her ideas,” the Gossip Girl alum added.
Hoover has shown support for Lively amid her bitter feud with Baldoni, 41. In December 2024, after Lively filed her initial complaint against the Jane the Virgin actor — alleging he sexually harassed her on set — the author posted an Instagram Story gushing over the A Simple Favor star and linking to the bombshell New York Times article.
“@blakelively, you have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive and patient since the day we met,” Hoover wrote over a photo of her and Lively hugging, according to People. “Thank you for being exactly the human that you are. Never change. Never wilt.”

However, in a November 2025 interview with Elle, Hoover admitted that the whole situation “feels like a circus.”
“When there are real people involved, with real feelings and emotions. This actually truly has impacted some of the actors’ careers in huge ways. And I just find it all around sad,” she told the outlet. “I’m just trying to stay removed from the negativity. I have my own story I could tell … but I don’t want to bring attention to it, and I don’t want to have to put someone else down to lift myself up.”
“So I’d rather just ignore it and let people think and say what they’re going to say,” she noted. “I feel like it’s so big at this point that there’s nothing anyone can say to change whatever opinion people have of it, even though no one has the actual truth. Not even me.”
