The United States Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation into allegations that Deel, a major human-resources software company, recruited an Irish spy inside rival firm Rippling.
According to a report in The Wall Street Journal, grand-jury subpoenas were sent out in recent weeks seeking information related to the alleged spying operation.
