Gardaí are investigating the armed robbery of two filling stations in Portarlington this evening. 

It’s understood the Maxol and Applegreen Filling stations on Main Street in Portlarlington were both targeted in armed robberies.  

The Leinster Express/Laois Live understands the male was armed with what appeared to be a gun.  Armed Gardaí attended the   scene of the robberies. 

Laois Gardaí said “Detective Gardaí and Portarlington Garda are investigating two incidents of robbery where a lone male entered two service stations in Portarlington between 6.50pm and 7.10pm this evening.”

“He produced a weapon and stole quantities of cash from both locations. Garda are appealing for information and assistance from the public.  If you passed by or were on Main Street, Portarlington this evening and witnessed anything suspicious please report it,” Gardai said in a brief statement.
