Wexford County Council has issued an urgent call for arts and cultural festivals to express interest in participating in a national programme to showcase Irish arts and culture during Ireland’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Ireland will assume the rotating EU Council presidency in July, an opportunity that arises once every 13 years. During the six-month term, the country will host a wide range of high-level political, cultural and diplomatic events, including a summit of the European Political Community involving leaders from 47 states.
