Both stars have since moved on and are now married
The Brady Bunch remains one of television’s most beloved family sitcoms, chronicling the ups and downs of a blended household full of laughter and sibling rivalry — but behind the scenes, things looked a tad different.
Since the show’s end in 1974, fans have long been curious about the cast’s lives off-screen, and recently Barry Williams opened up about his real-life connection with costar Maureen McCormick.
In a January 2026 episode of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! Australia, the 71-year-old actor compared the cast’s off-camera romances to the dynamics of a reality dating show.
“Have you ever been to Love Island?” Williams asked Matt Zukowski, who was the runner-up on Love Island Australia season 2. “Well, it’s kind of like that, you know? You look around, and you take in the environment, and you start chatting, and suddenly things are happening.”

Williams, who played Greg Brady, noted that he had dated McCormick, who played his sister Marcia Brady, “on and off for different times” while working together on the series.
Reflecting on that period, he didn’t hold back in describing her appeal, calling the now 69-year-old actress “the hottest girl on television at the time and cute as could be.”
According to Williams, their relationship unfolded in an environment where the entire cast was closely intertwined.
“We were the only people we knew and liked and cared about,” he explained.
“We had a great time together. And the rest of the kids all got together, either dating or being very friendly,” he told Zukowski, breaking down the group dynamics by age: “Bobby and Cindy, the two youngest, Peter and Jan, the two middle kids, and then Greg and Marcia.”
Williams also explained that the bonds formed on set went far beyond a typical workplace. “We were going through this whole thing together,” he shared. “And we were together as a television family more than with our own families at times of the year. So we knew each other, we trusted each other, and you know, we liked each other.”

The dynamic between Williams and McCormick clearly didn’t go unnoticed by those around them. Last year, Christopher Knight – who played middle brother Peter Brady – revisited the iconic “A Room at the Top” episode, in which his costars argued over the attic bedroom while on The Real Brady Bros.
“You two were looking a little bit close, a little bit less like brother and sister and more like …” Knight said, prompting Williams to interject, “You mean dreamy-eyed?”
“The longing kind of wide-eyed. Yeah. That was you. And she was looking dreamy,” Knight, now 68, replied.

Today, both former child stars have moved on. Williams has been married to Tina Mahina since 2017, while McCormick shares a daughter with her husband of over 40 years, Michael Cummings.
In September 2025, McCormick and her husband spoke to PEOPLE about the key to being married for four decades. “You’ve got to have a sense of humor about things. You can’t take things too seriously,” Cummings said. “You got to let things go and just love the one you’re with. It’s a lifetime deal.”
