Two EuroMillions players woke up to life-changing €500k Lotto wins this morning – including someone right here in Cork, who bought their ticket just before their numbers came up.
The Rebel winner nabbed the earth-shaking prize after purchasing their ticket the same day at Con’s Shop on Gurranabraher Road. Meanwhile a lucky Dublin player bought their own top winning ticket online using Scheduled Play on January 24.
And it’s a bright day for Con’s Shop, a northside institution. The much-loved store was run by legendary shopkeeper Con O’Leary from 1973 right up to his death in January 2024. The shop went up for sale last year.
Mr O’Leary, who was affectionately known as ‘Con the Robber,’ is well regarded as having been one of the last great Cork characters and was elected by his community twice, serving as a city councillor for the North Central Ward in the 90s. After his death, friends, family and wealth of loyal customers unofficially renamed the street Con’s Hill in tribute to him.

It’s the second massive win in a year for Cork city, after a family syndicate won €250million on a ticket from Clifford’s Centra on Shandon Street.
The winning numbers for last night’s Plus draw were: 3, 7, 8, 10, 29.
The winning numbers for the main EuroMillions draw were: 4, 23, 42, 43, 47 and the Lucky Stars 3 and 9. There were also 10 winners of the Ireland Only Raffle, bagging €5,000 each, the winning codes were:

As there was no winner of the EuroMillions jackpot worth €109,599,909, Friday night’s jackpot is set to roll towards an estimated €125 million.
Emma Monaghan, spokesperson for the National Lottery, said: “It’s been an extraordinary night of celebrations across the country, with three players in Cork and Dublin discovering a big win this morning. We’re encouraging all our players in these areas to check their tickets carefully. If you’re holding a winning ticket, make sure you sign the back, keep it safe, and contact the National Lottery Prize Claims team to arrange the collection of your prize.”
Meanwhile, a Dublin man is sitting on a huge Lotto win, and his wife still has no idea. The lucky punter scooped a €90,224 Match 5 + Bonus prize in last Wednesday’s draw – but instead of rushing home with the news, he has been quietly keeping the secret to himself.
He is now planning what he calls an “epic” surprise in the coming days. Speaking after his visit to Lottery HQ where he collected his winnings, he revealed he is waiting for the perfect moment to tell his wife.
