Tributes are pouring in following the death of a Spiderman voice star, Alexis Ortega.

The Mexican native worked on the Latin-American versions of a number of films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Captain America: Civil War as well as Star Wars, Finding Dory and Big Hero 6.

The 38-year-old’s death was confirmed via TMZ, though no cause of death has been disclosed.

One of the Mexican voice actor’s most notable roles was in the Latin-American version of Spider-Man: Homecoming, in which he voiced the role of Tom Holland’s lead character.

The death of Ortega was first reported by the World Dubbing News portal, who shared: ‘We regret to announce the sensitive passing of voice actor Alexis Ortega, we send our condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues in this difficult time.’

Fans of the star took to X to pay tribute to the man who voiced Tom Holland’s first stint as Spiderman.

One wrote: ‘Nooo, the first voice of Spiderman in the MCU [Marvel Cinematic Universe], peace to his grave.’

Another added: ‘Although I like Alberto Bernal more, it was his voice that introduced me to my favourite big-screen Spider Man. May he rest in peace.’

‘Thank you for making me happy.’

A third said: ‘NOOOOO TOM HOLLAND’S FIRST TIME AS SPIDER-MAN.’

Other on-screen roles from Ortega included Luis Miguel: The Series, Thursday’s Widows, El Candidato and The House of Flowers.

Ahead of his death, he had been working alongside YouTube phenomenon Mr Beast.
