Gardai are likely to have to wait several days before they can talk to a person of interest about the knife killing of a man in Dublin.
The man, who was 57 and from eastern Europe, died after he was stabbed in central Dublin in the early hours of Saturday morning.
He suffered fatal injuries after he was stabbed on Foster Terrace in Ballybough in north central Dublin at around 1.30am – but gardai believe the incident started in a house in the area.
Sources say officers suspect he and a female associate got into a dispute with a woman they knew – before it spilled out on the street.
It is understood gardai believe it was a minor dispute – that quickly got out of hand.
As a result of the dispute the man and one of the women suffered stab wounds. One of the women and the man were found injured on the street.
Officers who rushed to the scene later found the other woman with serious injuries inside a house in the area.

She was rushed to hospital along with the woman who was less seriously injured – while the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardai investigating the incident are keen to speak to the woman who suffered more serious injuries in the incident, but sources tell us it is likely to be several days before she is well enough to be interviewed.
The woman who was less seriously injured was discharged from hospital on Saturday – but the female with more severe injuries was still in hospital on Sunday.
