Grafton Street has lost yet another luxury shop, as a fan favourite shoe store has revealed it will close its doors for good, and the busy shopping street isn’t the only location saying goodbye to the brand.

Shoppers have flocked to the British brand’s Irish stores on Grafton Street, and in Kildare Village, Arnotts, and Brown Thomas in Cork, since it first arrived in the country in 2022.

The news likely comes as a shock to staff at Kildare Village, since the store only opened at the shopping outlet less than a year ago, in June 2025.

Russell & Bromley is set to close its doors in the coming weeks, though an official closing date hasn’t been given yet. The flagship store on Grafton Street is currently offering a clearance sale, with items from the other shops being sent there to sell.

The signs went up on the store last week, with some of the luxury items being sold at 30% off. A member of staff told EVOKE that it could be ‘up to twelve weeks’ before they officially close the doors.

‘Loads of people have been coming in to say that it’s such a shame to see it go because it had been doing really well,’ she explained.

Ireland isn’t the only place being hit with closures, as the shop will shut up its doors across the UK, leaving only three stores open, in Chelsea, and Mayfair in London, and Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent.

The news comes after Next bought the UK parent business out of administration for €4.4 million, though 33 shops were not included in the deal.

If you are in the market for a new bag or shoes from the luxury retailer, you’d better get there fast! Talk about the end of an era.
