Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra is headed for a likely price increase when the phone launches later this year. While some in the industry were probably expecting this change, there’s a good chance consumers were expecting, or at least hoping, for Samsung to keep the price the same as last year’s Galaxy S25 Ultra. There is one fundamental difference between the launch of that phone and the launch of Samsung’s upcoming flagship, however. The cost of components to make the phone.

Sharp price increases for RAM and storage components are hitting hard and causing many of the most popular consumer electronics products to go up in cost, and it was only a matter of time before smartphones were hit with the impact. Samsung hasn’t confirmed any price details about the phone yet, nor has it even officially announced the Galaxy S26 Ultra or its variations. With that being said, any information about its official price tag should be taken with a grain of salt for now. That doesn’t change the likelihood, however. RAM is more expensive. Storage is more expensive. Those are facts. So, it’s highly likely that Samsung may have to charge more for its upcoming devices.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra might see a 6% price increase compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra

While it’s possible for Samsung to find ways around raising the price of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, it seems more feasible for it as a company to charge customers more money to buy the product. According to a report from Korean news site NewDaily, Samsung will charge about 6% more for the phone due to increased costs of RAM and NAND flash to build the Galaxy S26 Ultra. If this ends up being accurate, consumers can probably expect higher prices for the other two models in the device family, as well.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra launched at a base price of $1,299.99. This was for the 256GB model, which was the starting storage capacity that was offered. For the Galaxy S26 Ultra, about 6% more would put the base price somewhere in the ballpark of $1,377. So, consumers might be looking at a price of $1,350 to $1,400. NewDaily says the price of the phone in South Korea will be 1.8 million Won, compared to the 1.69 million Won that was charged for the Galaxy S25 Ultra when it launched in 2025.
