The Marvel Cinematic Universe has expanded over the years with numerous heroes and villains making their way to the big screen. While various actors have finished their time in the MCU timeline, one of the original Avengers’ places in the franchise has recently been questioned.
Rumors have surfaced that Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk, has supposedly been fired by Disney, following comments about President Donald Trump. However, in an interview with The News Movement, the outlet asked if there was any truth to those reports.
Ruffalo stated, “Not that I know of. People keep going like, ‘Did you get fired?’ Not that I know of!” However, the MCU alum teased that he is definitely still around, saying, “I’ll be there as long as they’ll have me, but I have a good relationship with them. Who knows, there might be things I’m already doing that [Laughs] I’m around, let me just say that.”
This could lead to speculation that he was possibly hinting at Avengers: Doomsday, or Avengers: Secret Wars, which starts filming this summer. Ruffalo will be part of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day cast, as he will finally be reprising the role of the favorite Avenger alongside Tom Holland’s Peter Parker.
While the Avengers: Doomsday cast finished principal photography in 2025, some will be part of the reshoots taking place this spring. Time will tell if Ruffalo’s Hulk may be one of them, as Marvel Studios is still keeping a lot of details about the next Avengers film under wraps.
Ruffalo’s MCU appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day is slated for July 31, which will also feature Jon Bernthal returning as Punisher, making the Phase 6 film his first Marvel movie. The next project for Marvel Studios that is set to debut is Daredevil: Born Again season 2 on Disney+, scheduled to premiere on March 24.
