Liam Neeson ventures into the world of sci-fi for an exciting new R-rated movie that sees him team up with a Stranger Things star and more. Neeson recently starred in the new The Naked Gun movie, with the actor delivering a hilarious performance as Frank Drebin Jr., the son of Leslie Nielsen’s Frank Drebin. Neeson continues that film with another comedy.

Liam Neeson will soon return to the big screen with Cold Storage, which releases in the United States on February 13, 2026. The sci-fi movie follows Joe Keery (Stranger Things) as Travis Meacham and Georgina Campbell (Krypton) as Naomi Williams, two employees at a self-storage company built on top of an old US military base. When a mind-controlling fungus breaks out, Neeson’s Robert Quinn, a retired bioterror operative, helps them.

Cold Storage has debuted with a near-perfect 90% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. Given that the movie is not even out yet in the United States, that score should fluctuate over the coming weeks, especially since only ten reviews have been logged so far. Still, it is another positive RT score debut for Neeson after The Naked Gun’s 87% critics’ score.

The 2025 comedy movie also boasts a positive 72% audience score, indicating that most critics and moviegoers enjoyed The Naked Gun. Amid Cold Storage’s positive reviews is The Hollywood Reporter‘s. Film critic David Rooney commented on Neeson’s performance, saying, “Neeson’s dryly humorous gravitas is always welcome.” The critic also spoke positively about Keery and Campbell’s work in the comedy as a pair of underdog heroes.

So far, Cold Storage’s only negative review comes from La Nación (Argentina). Critic Guillermo Courau was not a fan of the sci-fi comedy, saying, “Cold Storage was merely intended as entertainment, but it doesn’t even fully achieve that.” United States viewers will be able to learn whether the sci-fi comedy movie falls on either side of the discourse in just ten days.

While Neeson is the biggest star in the cast, the two younger actors are known for their work on sci-fi franchises. Joe Keery became famous worldwide for playing Steve Harrington in all five seasons of the Netflix hit series Stranger Things. The character was supposed to be killed off in season 1, but Keery’s charisma ended up making Steve Stranger Things’ fan-favorite hero.

As for Georgina Campbell, the actress starred in the “Hang the DJ” episode of Netflix’s acclaimed sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror. The episode holds a positive 8.7 rating on IMDB. Campbell also played Lyta Zod in Krypton, the Superman prequel series from DC and Syfy. Cold Storage has all the elements to be a hilarious sci-fi comedy with surprising moments.
