Corrib Oil has confirmed that Tullamore Retail Park, in Co. Offaly, will be home to the second Wendy’s restaurant in Ireland, with the new Midlands location expected to open this May.
The new Wendy’s restaurant will create 60 new jobs, with recruitment now under way across a range of roles.
The Tullamore location will also include a drive-through.
“We’re proud to see Wendy’s continue its growth in Ireland with the opening of the Tullamore restaurant,” said Michael Clarke, managing director, Europe, the Wendy’s Company.
“Corrib Oil has proven to be a strong partner, and we’re excited to bring Wendy’s ‘globally great, locally loved’ experience to more Irish customers when the restaurant opens this spring.”
Best-Known Menu Items
The Tullamore Wendy’s will serve a menu built around 100% fresh Irish beef and hand-breaded chicken burgers and tenders, sourced from Irish-based food companies Kepak and Western Brand.
The menu will also feature the brand’s best-known items, including its famous square hamburgers.
Breakfast options, wraps and kids’ meals will also be available when the restaurant opens later this spring.
Tullamore Retail Park is located just inside the N52 ring road, five minutes from Tullamore’s town centre and approximately ten minutes from the M6 Dublin-Galway motorway.
The site is easily accessible by car and public transport, offers free on-site parking, and provides a range of in-store shopping options.
The Coming Years
Over the coming years, Corrib plans to open ten Wendy’s locations across Ireland, both as standalone restaurants and at select Corrib Oil service stations, creating more than 300 jobs nationwide.
Further Wendy’s locations will be announced in due course.
“Following the fantastic response to our first Wendy’s restaurant in Cork, we’re delighted to confirm Tullamore as the location for our second Irish location,” said Michael Dalton, managing director of Corrib Brands.
“Set to open this May, the new restaurant, complete with a drive-through, will create 60 new local jobs and bring Wendy’s signature quality, freshness and hospitality to the heart of the Midlands.
“This is another important step in our long-term expansion strategy.”
