Married At First Sight bride Gia Fleur is bracing for one of the most explosive seasons in the show’s history.
And she’s not backing down from the feud that viewers have already seen brewing with fellow bride Bec Zacharia.
Speaking to Daily Mail on Wednesday, Gia admits the tension between the pair is real, ongoing and only gets worse as the experiment unfolds.
‘We’re enemies,’ Gia said bluntly.
‘And that’s going to progressively get worse as the show goes on. We just don’t see eye to eye.’
Viewers first caught glimpses of the hostility during the hens’ night, where awkward looks and simmering tension set social media alight. But according to Gia, what was shown barely scratched the surface.

Speaking to Daily Mail on Wednesday, Gia admits the tension between the pair is real, ongoing and only gets worse as the experiment unfolds. ‘We’re enemies,’ Gia said bluntly
‘There were things said that made me react in a certain way,’ she explained.
‘It triggered me and made me put my defence up and go to war a bit.’
Gia also addressed the controversial moment where she rated Bec a ‘five out of 10’ – insisting it had nothing to do with physical appearance.
‘That wasn’t about how she looks,’ she said.
‘It was about her attitude, her demeanour and the way she was looking at me. It felt very judgemental.’
She revealed the exchange took her back to being bullied in high school.
‘I didn’t defend myself when I was younger. I just took it,’ she said.
‘So when I felt judged again, I reacted. I protected myself.’

Gia insists the Bec viewers are seeing is not the same person she experienced behind the scenes.
‘Not at all,’ she said when asked if the edit matched reality.
‘There were moments off camera where things were very different. On camera and off camera… two different people.’
While her relationship with Bec remains hostile, Gia says she did form strong bonds with other brides – particularly Brook Crompton, who quickly became her favourite.
‘Brook was my favourite person from the hens straight away,’ she said.
‘I was obsessed with her. She’s gorgeous, funny – I loved her.’
She also grew close to Melissa Akbay, praising her kindness and warmth.
‘They were my girls,’ Gia said.

Gia’s wedding day delivered chaos, drama and ultimately romance

Gia’s wedding day delivered chaos, drama and, ultimately, romance.
Her morning preparations spiralled when her loud, champagne-fuelled friends arrived, leaving her overwhelmed and craving calm.
‘I was nervous, I just wanted support,’ she said.
‘They came in hot, drunk and crazy. It was uncomfortable, but they eventually reined it in.’
Things went from bad to worse when Gia discovered she would be marrying on the beach – while wearing expensive heels and a high-slit gown.
‘I was pissed off,’ she admitted.
‘I didn’t want my underwear out, but that happened.’
However, everything changed the moment she locked eyes with groom Scott McCristal.
‘When I saw Scott, everything went away,’ she said.
‘I felt comfortable. I felt calm. There was an instant connection.’
Their chemistry carried them through the ceremony, but Gia spent the entire day holding onto a huge secret – that she is a mother.
‘I was terrified it would be a deal breaker,’ she said.
‘I thought it might be an ick for him.’
The truth was accidentally revealed by a family member before Gia could tell Scott herself, but his reaction stunned her.
‘He reassured me straight away,’ she said. ‘He handled it really well.’
Watching the episode back, Gia said she was relieved viewers finally got to see a different side of her.
‘I was happy with last night’s episode,’ she said.

Do YOU think love off reality TV lasts?
‘I feel like they showed me in a different light and people got to get to know me.’
She believes her wedding had it all.
‘We had drama, love, emotions,’ she said.
‘It was a pretty good wedding.’
As for the rest of the season, Gia promises fireworks.
‘A lot of fiery moments, a lot of drama, a lot of unhinged behaviour,’ she said.
‘But also vulnerability.’
She admits she’s already being positioned as a villain – but she’s making no apologies.
‘I’d rather be a villain than someone nobody remembers,’ she said. ‘At least I was authentic.’
And when it comes to the feud with Bec, Gia is clear – there’s no truce on the horizon.
‘People will see how it goes,’ she said. ‘But it’s not great.’
