EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders’ Nugget Gulati faces another serious health battle next week when he suffers a seizure and is rushed to hospital. The Panesars are shaken as the teenager’s future suddenly looks very uncertain. But what’s wrong with Nugget – and could Ravi have inadvertently caused this shocking collapse?

“Nugget’s had an incredibly tough couple of years,” begins our EastEnders insider.

“He was diagnosed with kidney failure after messing around with steroids a couple of years ago, then was recently left for dead in a violent attack – by his own dad! But this latest incident could mark the scariest chapter yet…”

We’ve seen Nugget gradually returning to normal life after being brutally assaulted. He’s spent some time with his pal Denzel and even agreed to go back to sixth form.

His parents Ravi and Priya are delighted by his progress, despite Ravi masking his crushing guilt about that fateful night.

Next week, Nugget takes another step towards adulthood when Ravi takes him out for his very first driving lesson. But it soon becomes clear that something isn’t right.

“While Nugget is excited to get behind the wheel and gain some independence, a very worrying moment unfolds when he suddenly zones out,” explains our source.

“He clutches his head in pain as Priya looks on concerned, but little do they know that the situation is about to become much more serious.”

Later on, Nugget is sitting in the car with his mum and dad when he suddenly has a seizure. He’s immediately rushed to hospital, and Ravi and Priya can’t believe that their beloved son is in a life-threatening situation once again.

After tests are carried out on Nugget, the doctor suggests that he may have had an epileptic seizure. This sends alarm bells ringing for Ravi, who fears the attack could have led to this new health scare.

“Ravi’s violent act, after being spiked, left Nugget in a coma with swelling on the brain,” says our insider. “He is forced to consider that he may have caused his own son to develop a lifelong condition, and is totally devastated.”
