Vogue Williams felt like her “heart was broken” following an “unbelievably sad” family moment. Back in September, the podcaster and ITV presenter shared the devastating news that her beloved dog Winston had passed away.
The TV star had previously spoken about how Winston, affectionately known as Winnie, had been a “huge part of the family” since joining her household 14 years earlier. In an emotional social media post, she described her cherished pet as “one in a million”.
The former I’m A Celeb contestant revealed that Winston had been unwell “on and off” during his final days, and she’d feared she might need to make the difficult decision to have him put down. However, he ultimately died peacefully at Vogue’s family home with her by his side.
Speaking on her Vogue and Amber podcast, the mother-of-three identified Winnie’s death as the most recent time she felt “unbelievably sad”. The subject came up whilst discussing emotions with her sister Amber Wilson.
Vogue shared: “The last time I felt unbelievably sad was when Winston died. Like, I couldn’t, it was literally like my heart was broken and I was like, ‘How am I going to feel better about this?'”

Previously, Vogue had expressed hope that Winston had “gone to a better place”. On her My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast, she revealed: “I honestly thought I was going to have to take him to the vet and do that for him because he was sick on and off.
“But he just died. He was lying in the hall and he just died, but at least I was beside him and he’s gone to a better place.”
Co-presenter Joanna McNally responded: “It’s so sad. It felt very sudden. Even though we knew he was sick it felt very sudden.”
Joanne remarked there was something “sweet” about Winston passing away with Vogue by his side. She observed: “Winston is one of the few animals I’ve ever heard of to die naturally in the arms of their owner.
“Most pets from my experience, they get really sick, they have to be put down, I think there’s something really sweet about the fact that you were with him. In that he died of natural causes.”

Vogue confessed she’d initially been anxious that Winston might pass away during the night. She revealed she’d been left “stressed” fretting over what might happen to the cherished family dog.
She shared: “To be honest with you I actually did feel really lucky because I was really stressed about that, or it happening during the night when he was on his own, and then this morning he just lay down by the front door and he just died. He didn’t squeal or anything.”
Vogue revealed she’d taken Winston for a “big long walk” the day before his death, during which he’d played with the family’s other dog Bertie. The experience has prompted her to vow she won’t get another pet after Bertie passes, to spare herself the heartache.
She confided to Joanne: “I swear to God I’m never doing it again. After Bertie I’m never getting any pets again, it’s just too sad. I’ve been crying non-stop today and it’s a horrible feeling.”
