Cork Gardaí are searching for the owner of an expensive-looking diamond ring that was found in the city in recent months.

The band in question was handed into a Cork city Garda station between September 2025 and January 2026. At a simple glance, you can tell it looks to be high quality and is likely an engagement ring that means an awful lot to one couple in Cork – and likely cost a pretty penny to make as well. Thankfully, the honest member of the public who found it did the right thing and handed it into Gardaí immediately – and they’re waiting for its true owner to pick it up.

But with something this valuable, officers won’t simply hand it over to the first person who says, “That’s mine.” Anyone claiming to be the ring’s rightful owner will need to prove they own it – ideally with proof of purchase. If you have any photos of you wearing it, that might help too – but in the modern world of AI images, that might not be enough to pass. And the same goes for the other items being stored in Gardaí‘s lost and found at the moment.

These include two sets of car keys and a suitcase which – as we can see from the carry-on tag – likely went through Dublin Airport recently. You can check out photos of these items below. If any of the items we mention look familiar, you should ring the Ballincollig Garda Station on 021 4214680 to discuss the next steps in collecting them.

Cork Gardaí regularly share images of their items in their lost and found storage on social media – and it’s fair to say some are a bit more unique than others. We’ve seen appeals for a wide range of items in past, including stolen bikes and e-scooters and a full poker chip set, complete with two sets of cards.
