A Killybegs woman has celebrated her 100th birthday.
Breege Campbell reached the centenary mark on Friday the 6th of February, and was surrounded by generations of her family to mark the occasion at Killybegs Community Hospital where she is a resident.

Born in Crove, Carrick as the youngest of ten children, Breege qualified as a General Nurse in Dublin in 1948.
She came to work at St Columba’s Sanitorium in Killybegs in 1951, and married her husband Daniel Campbell in 1952.

After marrying, at the time she was legally required to resign from public work, and spent her time raising a family of seven children.
However, Breege was able to return to nursing in later years, working as an ambulance nurse in southwest Donegal for 13 years before her retirement.
Donegal Daily would also like to extend our birthday congratulations to Breege and family.
