The family of the late Jimmy Laughlin feel that they are making progress in finding answers.
It comes following a Dail clash over an RTE Prime Time Investigates programme on the mental health service which had a big focus on Sligo.
In 2018, 20 year old Jimmy Loughlin was beaten to death by Richard McLaughlin who broke through the front door of his Sligo town apartment as he suffered a psychotic episode.
The killer was found not guilty by reason of insanity.
Sinn Fein Deputy Martin Kenny raised the issue in the Dail in recent days stating that people are being failed by the system.
