Ten years ago, choirmaster, organist, teacher and an apparent pillar of his local community Éanna McKenna was convicted and jailed for possession of a “horrific and despicable” stash of child abuse material, featuring children from aged from just one-year-old up to 15.
At the time, Judge Barry Hickson said he was “horrified and shocked” by the depraved content discovered on the Wexford man’s computer and hard drive, while McKenna threw himself at the mercy of the court and stated that he was attending group therapy sessions which “had a massive positive improvement on my development as a person”, something he stated he wished he had undertaken years earlier.
