A North Kerry bus stop is not fit for purpose and can’t even be called a bus stop anymore.

That’s according to Fine Gael councillor Aoife Kennelly, who raised a motion at the recent Listowel MD meeting.

She requested that urgent improvements be made to the bus stop in Duagh which she described as completely impractical.

In response, the council stated the National Transport Authority (NTA) is responsible for the funding, planning and delivery of these projects.

It added the capital delivery unit (North) proposes to undertake consultations with Bus Éireann and other stakeholders, for improved public transport infrastructure in Duagh.

The motion was seconded by Sinn Féin councillor, Tom Barry.
