Buncrana Gardaí have seized a vehicle, after it blasted through one of their checkpoints early this morning.
Members of the Buncrana Roads Policing Unit were carrying out a crime prevention checkpoint in the border area, when the vehicle, a black Volkswagen Golf, failed to stop when signalled and drove through the checkpoint in a dangerous manner.
Gardaí say that their stinger device was successfully deployed, and that the vehicle was later found abandoned.
The vehicle, which was uninsured, was subsequently seized by Gardaí.
Their investigations into the incident are ongoing.
