Stars dazzle on the Baftas red carpet

Only a few weeks of awards seasons to go before all shiny gongs are handed out, slights nursed and miles of red carpets rolled up. On Sunday evening, the BAFTAs took place in London and it was filled with unexpected wins, stand out style, and PDAs. Here are the most talked about moments.

Jessie Buckley continues her awards season golden streak and made history as first-ever Irish woman to win a BAFTA for Best Actress for her role in Hamnet. It rounded out a busy weekend – after picking up an IFTA on Friday. She is edging ever closer to that Oscar statue. In her speech, Buckley thanked her daughter who has been on the road with her since she was six weeks old. “It’s the best role of my life being your mum and I promise to continue to be disobedient so you can belong to a world in all your complete wildness as a young woman.”
