When you think fashion, the story of Hag’s Head in County Clare isn’t a topic that necessarily crosses your mind. However, one young Clare designer has now changed that notion for good.
Hag’s Head is the name given to the most southerly point of the Cliffs of Moher, where an unusual rock formation is formed in the cliff, resembling a woman’s head looking out to sea. Local folklore says that the rock formed head belongs a witch named Mal, who was in love with the Irish hero Cú Chulainn, who did not return her affections. It is said that as he escaped her, the witch tried to leap after him across the sea stacks but fell and was killed, with the rocks forming her head in memory of her.
