Princess Michael of Kent, the outspoken royal long nicknamed
“Princess Pushy”, is said to be seriously ill after suffering a
stroke, according to friends.

Marie Christine, 81, who is married to Prince Michael of Kent,
is now believed to be bedridden following the health emergency. One
friend said she had suffered a stroke and was no longer able to
leave her bed.

As reported by the Daily Mail,
the latest health setback comes after a difficult period for the
princess, who attended the King’s traditional pre-Christmas lunch
at Buckingham Palace in 2024 with both wrists in splints after a
fall at Kensington Palace, where she lives with her husband.

She had been carrying a number of overcoats when she lost her
footing on the stairs. Although the coats cushioned her fall, she
broke several small bones after instinctively putting out her hands
to break the impact.

The injury left her unable to perform many everyday tasks. The
princess, who has written several books, said at the time that even
simple activities such as brushing her teeth had become impossible,
and that she could only type slowly on a mobile phone with a single
finger.

Doctors warned her that any wrong movement while the bones were
healing could undo her recovery.

The fall came less than a year after she underwent heart
surgery, an operation that left her needing to rest regularly
during the day. She later admitted the procedure had come as a
shock.
