Maynooth University’s Department of Music invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher or Senior Postdoctoral Researcher (Post Ref: 040484) to work on the European Research Council–funded BROKENSONG project, Polyphonic Singing and Communities of Music Writing in Medieval Britain and Ireland, c.1150–1350. The 22-month specified-purpose contract is based on campus in Maynooth, Co. Kildare.
The researcher will analyse a corpus of medieval music recovered from manuscript fragments, using traditional music analysis methods or computational approaches such as machine learning and statistical analysis. Applicants must hold a PhD in musicology, music analysis, music theory, computational musicology, digital humanities, computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematics/statistics, or a related field.
Salary: €46,805–€53,391 (Postdoctoral Researcher) or €54,851 (Senior Postdoctoral Researcher), in line with public sector pay provisions.
