Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for Donegal, Galway and Mayo.
The warning will come into effect at 6pm this evening and will last until 5am tomorrow morning.
Strong and gusty southwesterly winds are forecast, especially in coastal areas.
The forecaster has warned of difficult travelling conditions as a possible impact of the weather conditions.
It has also warned of the risk of debris, loose objects being displaced and fallen branches and trees resulting from the strong winds.
