This Easter, Lidl Ireland is shattering expectations (and chocolate shells) with the launch of its most innovative Easter Egg collection yet.
Moving beyond tradition, the 2026 range introduces a fusion of handcrafted Irish chocolate eggs and bakery favourites made with premium Belgian chocolate, led by the Belgian Chocolate Croissant Egg and the Belgian Chocolate Doughnut Egg, costing €9.99.
This year’s Deluxe range celebrates Irish craftsmanship as well as high-quality ingredients, ensuring there is a decent option for every palate – from the dark chocolate purists to the adventurous dessert lover.
Specials
In keeping with the lesser-known Easter Sunday tradition of a lie-in and pastry run, Lidl is inviting adults to enjoy new bakery-inspired eggs for €9.99 each.
The Belgian Croissant Egg is a Lidl bakery favourite remodelled into a golden chocolate treat, featuring a caramelised white chocolate shell packed with crunchy biscuit and shortbread pieces, then finished with a sophisticated milk chocolate drizzle and cocoa nibs.
The Belgian Chocolate Doughnut Egg is also a decadent reimagining of a Lidl’s classic, this time the doughnut, with a milk chocolate shell blended with shortbread and fudge pieces, topped with a caramelised white chocolate coating and fudge sprinkles.
For those interested in supporting local, Lidl is spotlighting its classic Handmade Premium Irish Egg Collection from Áine’s Handmade Chocolates at €11.99 each.
These eggs are handmade in Co. Cavan using a high-cocoa Belgian chocolate base.
Unlike big-brand alternatives, which can contain as little as 25% to 28% cocoa solids, Lidl Ireland’s Easter Eggs prioritise a rich cocoa solids content, with at least 30% for milk and 51% for dark.
It also uses real cocoa butter and no vegetable oils, resulting in a significantly smoother, more decadent melt.
For a refreshing twist, consider the Milk Mint Chocolate with White Chocolate egg, which offers a blend of mint-infused milk chocolate with an elegant white chocolate drizzle, and earned a Great Taste 2023 award for its great quality.
Other options include a Milk Chocolate with Honeycomb, White Chocolate with Raspberries, and Dark Chocolate with Caramelised Almonds.
Deluxe
Wrapping up the collection are the Deluxe Irish Milk Chocolate Easter Egg and the Deluxe Dark Chocolate Easter Egg, both €8.99, which come with an assortment of gourmet truffles.
The range also features the Deluxe Milk Chocolate & Salted Caramel Irish Easter Egg and the Deluxe Dark Chocolate & Coffee Irish Easter Egg, both 200g and available for €6.99, ensuring a high-end experience this Easter without breaking the bank.
