There has been a crash just outside Balla on the N60 towards Castlebar.
Gardaí earlier confirmed that there has been a collision and recovery units were on the way to take a lorry out of a ditch.
Diversions have been put in place but motorists are advised to take extra caution and to expect heavy delays as Gardaí have said the road will be closed “for the foreseeable”.
