Commuters are experiencing significant delays to train services due to an earlier issue that saw services suspended to and from Dublin’s Heuston Station.
Shortly after 3.20pm on Friday, Irish Rail said services between Clondalkin and Heuston were suspended, and no services were expected to operate between the two stations until the issue was rectified.
The suspension of services came as a result of a “signalling issue in the area”.

Services between Clondalkin and Heuston resumed after 4.30pm, with Irish Rail advising of delays of up 30 minutes “due to congestion and the late arrival of incoming sets”.
Irish Rail have said delays are “expected to ease” through the evening as services are brought back on schedule.
Separately, the 4.05pm Heuston/Waterford service failed at Park West due to a “technical fault” with passenger to be accommodated on the later 5.37pm service between the two stations.
