The popular EuroGiant store in Monaghan Town is to close its doors today.
In a social media post, management confirmed the closure.
The post said after many wonderful years serving the community, they would like to sincerely thank all of their loyal customers for the support, kindness and friendship over the years.
The news follows the discount retailer, which operates 77 stores nationwide, entering court-appointed liquidation in early February.
EuroGiant cited a combination of high inflation, rising rents, increased operational costs and intense competition within the retail sector as key factors behind the decision.
The local store had been a popular stop for bargain hunters, families and seasonal shoppers.
Nationally, the future of the other remaining EuroGiant stores remains uncertain after a number of closures.
