Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for Mayo this afternoon.
The alert was only issued in the past hour.
The weather body is warning of strong and gusty westerly winds, especially along coastlines.
They also say it may result in difficult travelling conditions, loose objects being displaced and a possibility of wave overtopping.
Donegal, Galway and Sligo are also included in this warning, which is in effect from 2:00pm until 8:00pm today.
Mayo’s coastline is also included in a status yellow gale wind warning, until midnight tonight.
