A woman has been arrested after gardaí said she tried to hold up a premises in the Cork city area with an imitation firearm.
The incident took place at around 10.15pm on Sunday in Ballincollig.
Later that evening, gardaí responded to a report of a separate incident of robbery in Ballincollig. A woman brandishing an implement threatened an individual and quantity of cash is reported to have been taken. No one was injured, gardaí said.

A woman (40s) was subsequently arrested in connection with the investigation, and is currently detained in the Co Cork area.
An imitation firearm and a number of bladed implements have been recovered, with the imitation firearm being sent for ballistic analysis.
The Gardaí appealed to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward. Any person who was travelling in the Ballincollig, Cork City area on Sunday, between 9:30pm and 10.30pm, is asked to contact investigating Gardaí.
