Emmerdale has teased another mysterious scheme for Joe Tate this week, as Kim confronts him over his strange behaviour. When the shady businessman extends an olive branch to Lydia Dingle, his true motives are called into question.
Joe has long established himself as a cut-throat character who goes to extreme lengths to get what he wants. From stealing a kidney to blackmailing his rivals, he isn’t exactly an ideal neighbour.

However, in tomorrow’s episode, Joe surprisingly tries to bury the hatchet with the Dingles, following their recent tensions. He apologises to Lydia and offers the cleaner a pay rise – leaving everyone confused by his actions.
The next day, Kim faces a cold reception from Chas Dingle when she shares her sadness over Paddy Dingle and Dylan Penders’ arrest. Chas, who is still furious about the Tates’ acquisition of Butler’s Farm, makes a snide remark and leaves.
“Honestly, I don’t know why you bother,” Joe tells Kim, in a new spoiler clip.
“I bother because Paddy’s been my vet for years. I like him, he’s a good person,” Kim explains, adding that she’s “trying to build bridges, if only for Lydia’s sake”.

Joe questions why Lydia is so important and calls her a bad cleaner, prompting Kim to call out his hypocrisy. She asks why he gave Lydia a pay rise if he had such a low opinion of her work.
“What’s going on, Joe? Care to enlighten me? Because there’s something decidedly odd about your behaviour at the moment. I can smell it,” she says.
While Kim clearly knows that Joe is up to something, she’s unaware of his huge discovery – which will unfold in tonight’s episode. Graham Foster shows Joe a copy of Kim’s will, which reveals that her fortune is going her grandchildren, while Lydia will gain ownership of her mansion.
In light of this information, Joe appears to be setting up a new scheme. But what is his endgame?
