Ten people have been arrested for drink or drug driving in Kerry in the past week.
That’s according to Garda Colm Neelan of Dingle Garda Station.
An Garda SÃochána launched the St Patrick’s Day road safety appeal at Kerry County Council’s national Safer Roads conference in Killarney last week.
There, assistant commissioner for roads policing with An Garda SÃochána, Catharina Gunne, said 86% of those arrested for ‘driving under the influence’ of alcohol or drugs last year were men.
The recent RSA Driver Attitudes and Behaviour Survey (2025) found that more than one-in-ten (12%) drivers had admitted to driving after drinking alcohol.
