It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the death of Sean Farrell, Castleteehan, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, on 16th March 2026.

Sean passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family after a short illness, in the care of the kind staff of the University Hospital Galway (UHG).

Predeceased by his mother Rita and brother-in-law Andrew.

Sean will be sadly missed and eternally remembered by his partner Mary and his children Ann and Sean, by his devoted father John, brother David and sisters Mary, Kathleen, Audrey, Alma, Hazel, and Carol. Fondly remembered & deeply missed by his sister-in-law Rena, brothers-in-law Richard, Fergus, Austin, Patrick and Enda and by his nieces and nephews, Matthew, Samuel, Peter, Emma, Ciara, David, John, Grace, Anna, Lucy, Daniel, Ellen, Sadie, Jamie and Dylan and grand-nephew Charlie, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, neighbours and his many good friends across the country.

Reposing at Gaynor’s Funeral Home, The Square, Castlerea (F45 HH24) on Thursday evening from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock.

Funeral arriving at St. Patrick’s Church, Castlerea on Friday morning for Mass of the Resurrection at 11 o’clock followed by burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Sean’s Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on St. Patrick’s Church webcam.
