Vogue Williams has slammed the cost of fuelling her home in her latest YouTube vlog – she is now facing double trouble after also buying a home in London.
The 40-year-old model and presenter is currently renovating her Dublin home and explained it cost around €2,000 to heat.
Vogue told fans of her vlog: “I don’t know about other people’s bills. The house here is not boiling hot and we don’t have a lot of the rooms on with heat and our bills are €2,000 a month.”
Williams explained she has been looking at the latest high tech, effcient heating systems for her home as she undertakes a huge remodelling – and after having difficulties with her heat pump, she is hoping to source a better system to bring down the €2,000 a month she is currently paying.
Heat pumps, while initially expensive to install, are becoming more and more popular as a way of saving over the longer term, they are an electrically powered, highly efficient heating system that transfers heat from the outside air, ground, or water into your home, rather than generating heat by burning fuel. They typically provide 3 to 4 units of heat for every 1 unit of electricity used, significantly reducing energy bills compared to oil or gas boilers.
Vogue recently bought the seaside retreat in Howth, Dublin, as she plans to spend more time in Ireland. The podcaster and influencer has called the new property her ‘dream home’ that serves as a perfect getaway from the hectic high-rises of London.
The hilltop property is behind a screen of mature trees and lush greenery. Vogue said that the private nature of the property was one of the appealing factors that drew her to the house.
Vogue, who reportedly shelled out €2.8 million on her “forever home” in Howth, brought in designer Geri O’Toole from Geri Designs to give the space a makeover.
This is the second property Williams has taken on as she and her husband Spencer Matthews have upgraded from their spacious apartment to a house in London. The 18-month project will be their “forever home,” while the house in Dublin will be more of a weekend retreat and place to spend time with her Irish family.
The couple have three children together, Theodore, Gigi and Otto and while renovations are happening, the family are renting.
Willams told, RSVP Live: “The rental is grand, but we’re all squashed in a little bit because we’ve so much stuff. This is the part I love, but I’m kind of nervous because Spenny’s getting really quite involved in the renovation process.”
