There were big celebrations for St Kieran’s College on St. Patrick’s Day as they were crowned All-Ireland Schools Senior Hurling champions once again.
Brian Dowling’s side secured the title after a 3–19 to 2–16 victory over Presentation College Athenry in the final at Croke Park.
Goals from Fionn Mahony, Gearoid O’Shea and Dan Carroll helped seal the win, as St Kieran’s claimed their third All-Ireland title in four seasons.
After the game, Danesfort’s Mahony said winning the title with the school was a dream come true.
“It’s unbelievable. To win an All-Ireland in Croke Park is all you dream of since being a child. When you walk into the gates of St Kieran’s in first year it’s probably the one thing on your mind — to win an All-Ireland with St Kieran’s. It’s just unbelievable.”
There is also a special edition of the KCLR Hurling Podcast looking back on the win, along with a KCLR Big Game Live Podcast for anyone who wants to relive the final.
