A lucky Dungloe teen had the surprise of a lifetime at a Country 2 Country gig in Belfast when Keith Urban handed her his own signed guitar.
Saoirse O’Donnell was attending the Sunday night show with her mum Ann, her two aunts Siobhan and Maggie, and her granny Theresa when the unforgettable moment happened.
The family was seated on the main floor, close to a smaller stage that Keith used during part of his super 90-minute set.
When Keith came down into the crowd, Saoirse’s energy quickly caught the Australian Grammy winner’s attention.
“I jumped up on top of a chair,” Saoirse recalls. “I was dancing and singing, and he had nodded at me a few times because I was waving and making heart hands.
“I think I was probably the only one standing on a chair in that radius. He was motioning for me to come over to him.”
As Keith performed You’ll Think of Me, he signed his acoustic guitar and gave it to Saoirse.

The guitar was one of Keith’s own branded ‘Urban’ Yamaha guitars, complete with plectrums on the side and the guitar strap still attached.
“Talk about the cherry on top of the night,” said Saoirse’s mum, Ann.
The family also praised the SSE Arena security team for helping make the experience even more special.
“They were phenomenal,” Ann said. “After Saoirse came back with the guitar, they took it to a back room so she could enjoy the rest of the concert. They walked us back into the arena afterwards and gave her a setlist.
“Everybody who saw Keith nodding at Saoirse was so excited for her.”

Saoirse only knows a few chords so far but the gift has inspired her to put the guitar to good use.
“This is my wake-up call to learn to play now,” she said.
Saoirse is a Transition Year student at Rosses Community School and a huge music fan who loves all genres.
She already has plenty more concerts to look forward to, with trips planned to see 5 Seconds of Summer and Louis Tomlinson, while a very special 16th birthday present will see her heading to Amsterdam to see Harry Styles live.
