A Garda investigation has been launched into a violent incident involving a hatchet in North Clare.
The incident happened in Ennistymon at the end of last week.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following what’s described as an “incident of affray” in Ennistymon last Friday.
This is a criminal offence involving two or more people using, or threatening to use, unlawful violence towards each other, in a way that would cause a reasonable bystander to fear for their safety.
Three people were involved in the incident at the Circle K forecourt on the Ennis road, shortly before 12 o’clock on Friday afternoon.
The suspects used a hatchet as a weapon during the altercation.
Two of the suspects have been identified and Gardaí are now seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the third person involved.
