Mosta will host the art exhibition This Is Us, featuring the work of five female artists. The show opens on September 27 at Razzett tal Markiż Mallia Tabone and runs until October 5, with an inauguration conducted by Marie Benoit.
The exhibition brings together friends and colleagues who each work in different styles.
COVID by Adele Borg
Adele Borg, described as a romantic artist, draws inspiration from her travels abroad. She paints landscapes, forests, seascapes and nudes using vivid colours and heavy textures to convey movement and life.
The Beast Within by Marika Borg
Marika Borg focuses on portraiture and figure painting, as well as plein air works. Her paintings often depict Maltese streets and local scenes in bright, lively colours.
The Blue Landscape by Tessie Borg
Tessie Borg’s work is abstract and spiritual. She selects colours deliberately to create specific atmospheres, which can range from calm and tranquil to expressive and provocative.
The Inner Flight by Maria Briffa Bell
Maria Briffa Bell produces art described as mystical and open to interpretation. Her fluid style communicates the inspiration behind each piece while allowing viewers to create their own narratives.
Madeleine Vella Satariano is also a romantic artist and nature lover. She favours subjects such as horses and rough seas, using her fingers to paint. This technique allows her to shape her subjects and suggest movement. Her use of vivid colours highlights the Mediterranean light and local scenery.
This Is Us aims to present a combination of diverse styles and perspectives in one collective exhibition. It offers viewers the opportunity to experience five different approaches to contemporary art, reflecting both individuality and shared themes of emotion, nature and observation.
