Kildare Village has announced a new partnership with the Padel Federation of Ireland, becoming the official sponsor of its Women in Padel Programme as part of a continued commitment to supporting female participation in sport.
The initiative, which will run over 12 months, is designed to increase the number of women playing padel across Ireland through a structured and inclusive programme of activity. Participants will have access to weekly coaching sessions, open days and a range of social and competitive events, including community gatherings and mini-tournaments.
The programme aims to provide a clear entry point for beginners while also supporting the development of more experienced players, reflecting the growing demand for opportunities for women within the sport.
Padel continues to experience rapid growth both internationally and domestically. The sport now boasts more than 35 million players worldwide, while in Ireland women account for approximately 40 percent of participants, underlining the importance of targeted initiatives to further expand that figure.
Recent developments have also highlighted padel’s rising global profile. The sport has been confirmed as part of the medal programme for the 2026 Asian Games and will also feature at the 2027 European Games, organised by the European Olympic Committees, further strengthening its status on the international stage.
The Padel Federation of Ireland, which is recognised by the International Padel Federation (FIP) as the sport’s governing body on the island of Ireland, oversees the development and regulation of padel at all levels. The organisation is responsible for national team selection and works with clubs and stakeholders to grow participation and ensure long-term sustainability.
Under the leadership of President and CEO Naomi Nicholl, the federation has prioritised inclusion and accessibility, with a particular focus on increasing opportunities for women both on and off the court.
The new partnership with Kildare Village is expected to play a central role in advancing those ambitions, providing additional resources and visibility for the Women in Padel Programme.
Kildare Village, which has been involved in a number of community and sporting initiatives, said the sponsorship reflects a broader strategy of supporting women in sport and creating opportunities for participation at grassroots level.
The collaboration is intended to lower barriers to entry, encourage greater engagement and build a stronger community around the sport, particularly among female players.
