Passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on March 17th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary (née Verling) beloved wife of the late John and much-loved mother of the late Matthew.

Daughter of the late Maura (recently deceased) and Patrick Verling.

Dear mother of Victor, Damien, Aimée and Jonathan.

Much loved granny of Dion, Jack, Finn, Caitlín, Aoife, Úna, Ella, Max and Leo.

 

Mary will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her loving sons, daughter, grandchildren, daughters-in-law Catherine and Carina, son-in-law Kenneth, Victor’s partner Anna, her brother Paul, sister Patricia, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, her goddaughters Jennifer and Ella, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and her many friends.

Fondly remembered by her former colleagues and friends at Owenacurra Day Care Centre, Midleton.

Mary will repose at her home on Main Street, Castlemartyr (P25 H2C4) on Friday 20th March from 5pm to 7pm.

 

Mary’s funeral cortege will leave the family home on Saturday 21st March at 1:45pm, pausing at their family farm on Killeagh Road, before proceeding to the Island Crematorium for a private Service.

 

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the First Responders, the Ambulance Service and the Gardaí for their care and kindness.
