Rebecca Ferguson and Chris Pratt each have plenty of experience starring in massive blockbusters. Much of Ferguson’s time on the big-screen has come from starring opposite Tom Cruise in the Mission: Impossible movies, but she’s also one of the headliners in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune franchise. As for Pratt, he’s starred in Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World movies, which have helped him become one of the most successful actors of all-time at the box office. Ferguson has also garnered acclaim for her performance in Silo, the hit Apple TV series with a third season on the way this summer. Pratt doesn’t have any big franchise plans on the schedule for now, but he will star in a new Apple TV military thriller later this year, Way of the Warrior Kid, which co-stars Linda Cardellini.
To kick off 2026, Pratt and Ferguson teamed up for a new sci-fi thriller, Mercy. The film is set in a dystopian future, and it follows a detective (Pratt) who is accused of killing his wife. In this alternate reality, those accused of crimes such as murder have only 90 minutes to prove their innocence to an AI judge, who is played by Rebecca Ferguson. Mercy earned a poor 25% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes but an 83% on the audience-driven Popcornmeter. This wasn’t enough to get fans to show up to theaters, though, leading to the film grossing only $54 million at the box office against a $60 million budget. After a successful run on VOD that helped Mercy earn back some of its budget, Prime Video has confirmed that the film will begin streaming on the platform for all subscribers this weekend, on March 22.
Is Rebecca Ferguson in ‘Dune: Part Three’?
Rebecca Ferguson will return to play Lady Jessica in Dune: Part Three, but she will reportedly have only one scene in the sci-fi threequel. She was present in the first trailer for the film that was released earlier this week, but she has publicly stated that she thought she wasn’t going to be included at all, until learning that Villeneuve wrote a scene just for her. Dune: Part Three hits theaters later this year on December 18, and Silo Season 3 will be released even sooner, sometime this summer.
Be sure to check out Mercy when it arrives on Prime Video this weekend and stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates and coverage of Ferguson’s future projects.
