Golden Pass LNG, QatarEnergy’s first liquefaction plant outside of the Middle East, might help fill a global supply gap left by a massive outage at the company’s flagship Ras Laffan export facility in the Middle East. Ironically, though, it won’t pull the state-owned gas giant out of its wartime predicament after it starts shipping cargoes from Texas as early as next week, several industry analysts say.
