Quotes corner

Mick Conlan: “This is my last run towards a world title. If I was to lose again and if I lost this one, which I know I won’t, but if I did that would be me calling it a day.

“I’ve been around the game 27 years now and I know I’m definitely at the latter stage of my career.

“I’m in a great condition mentally and physically so I know I still have enough to push towards a world title but if it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen, and that’s the curtains closed.

“But I’m at peace with it. I’ve done an awful lot, I’ve earned great great money and when you get into boxing, as well as wanting to be a world champion, you want to make sure you’re able to buy a house and I’ve done all that.

“I’m in a great position in life. I have things set up outside of boxing where I’ll fall in too easily, whether it’s management, whether it’s property, whether it’s different things.”

Kevin Walsh: “Every single night for this camp I was watching videos of Mick Conlan, studying this man.

“He says he only watched about 20 seconds of me and I think that’s a big mistake. I think you should watch your opponent.”
